Where are the abortionbattlefields? On earth or in heaven? Or ......

Distress and tribulation comes over us because of the still ongoing abortions. This appalling sin streams over our country (and the world) already for decades. The annual deaths, 30.000 unborn babies, in our country defies our souls. Where are the walls and where are the gates to stand in and blow the trumpet? Is this a battle here on earth or in heaven or both?

Saturday, 7 December last year, I travelled for the first time in my life off to The Hague to the ‘March for Life’ to join and walk with. An impressive procession against the ongoing killing of babies in the womb. On the way back I thought: ‘Should this action stop this terrible sin against God?' I also wonder whether the Lord Jesus would have take part with us if He lived now.

Suppose there was a peaceful demonstration in His time at the temple square in Jerusalem about the ‘dead religion’, the appalling sin of that time. Should He have walked with the crowds? I do not know. Reading in the Bible Jesus never called for civil violence or to peaceful rebellion nor to quiet rides. To Pilate, Jesus said: ‘My kingdom is not of this world’. Earlier He had said that he who takes the sword shall perish by the sword. He didn't want an earthly Kingdom …. then not and not now.

But should we endure then that ongoing murdering of unborn lives? No...God does not want that too. In Ezekiel 3 verse 18 He says that we have to warn them otherwise God will require the blood of our hand. So we have to bear testimony every time abortion is discussed in the Lower and Upper House of our Government and everywhere/time this subject is discussed. There must be a powerful witness that abortion is a sin against God, the Creator of heaven and earth and of live on this earth. No preaching but testify to what God says in His word. The word of God, powerful in itself, will do its work in the hearts of man and woman. The sword of the Spirit is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword: it judges and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart of everyone who hears it.

As we now are seeing, waves of this sin flooding our country. Like the enemies in the story of King Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20) flows in large forces towards Israel. Jehoshaphat fears very and sought the face of the Lord. He called together all Judah to seek assistance by the Lord. Jehoshaphat stood as intercessor in the temple between the people and the Lord. He prayed this simple prayer directly heard into the heaven and answered.

'O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand Thee? Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seïr, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; Behold I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. O our God, wilt Thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do; but our eyes are upon Thee.

Jehoshaphat and his people knew themselves totally dependent on the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Jehovah. Jehoshaphat and his people knew that this situation was beyond them. Therefore they cried to the Lord in fasting and praying. Is this not an example that we should follow when it comes to withstand abortion? Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10 that although we walk in the flesh, we don't have the battle after the flesh. He means that we live here on earth in the physical tangible world of people, relationships, buildings, roads, landscapes and a broken world with many disasters and terrible wars. However, he says that we shouldn't battle against this physical world in any way. So, he stated, our weapons are not carnal but mighty through God to cast down the strengths and all heights that rise up against God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
O God forgive us... O forgive us....
O
We don't have the battle against the politicians in the Parliament, not against the ministers, we don’t wrestle against King William Alexander who signs the laws, not against the fathers and mothers, not against the boys and girls who do abortion. We wrestle not against defenders of free sexual morality, not against the clinics and not against the doctors and nurses who perform the surgery. All of them know deep in their hearts that they are sinning. God has put it in everyone's heart: ‘Thou shalt not kill’. We don't have to convince them that is God's Spirit doing in their conscience. Silent marches and vigils also don't convinced them. But .... we wrestle against the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, and against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Therefore let God's children get up in the power and ministry of Elijah and gather for prayer. Let’s pull the debts of our people in our country to ourselves like Daniel did: "We and our fathers with us ... ". Our 'once', our lives before our repentance, will convince us to speak about ‘we’. After all in that period also came from our hearts evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, theft, false testimony, and blasphemies like Jesus says in Matthew 15 verse 18 and 19.

Let us so enter the spiritual battlefields of prayer in humility and meekness; for God's throne in the prayer for the lives of unborn babies. For the mothers/girls who are under treatment and taken medicines to appease their conscience. Or for those who practises yoga techniques (and mindfulness) just to suppress stress of the troubled hearts. For men/boys who ran away from their responsibilities (and under compulsion had forced the abortion). For conversion of politicians, ministers and King William Alexander.

Let us appear in the heavenly realms clothed with the whole armour of God (again and/or tighter) attracted and with all prayer and supplication praying at all times in (and with) the Spirit! Let’s spend night vigils in the inner rooms because we love His Commandments and our neighbours. The joint nights on our knees to pray the prayer of Isaiah:

‘Oh that Thou wouldest rend the heavens, that Thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at Thy presence. As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make Thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Thy presence! When Thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, Thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside Thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him'.
